F. Chopin (1810 - 1849)

Quite possibly, Chopin is one of the most misunderstood composers of the 18th century. Generally known as a Salon composer and liked by pianists because of his elegant musical style, Chopin was just as much admired as he was disliked. For instance Wagner was profusely critical of Chopin till Chopin's death. In later years it has been reported that Wagner would improvise in the style of Chopin, and so it appears after lengthily investigation that Wagner even copied the Tristan Chord and it's surrounding passage from op 68.4. This performance is to show that there is a very serious side to the great composer Chopin.
