Steven Erselius lives in south norwood and is a full time piano teacher. He has composed music since the age of 9, in a wide range of genre and form. Works performed include orchestral and chamber music, much music for theatre, music for TV commercials and jazz. He studied composition with Peter Lawson, John Pickard and Jeffrey Lewis. He is closer to the late romantic than the avant-garde. He also feels drawn to early 20th century music (particularly Busoni) and British music generally. In 1991 he graduated from Bangor University with Bachelor of music (honours) and also holds a diploma in piano performance. At present he is collaboratting with local artist and lyricist David Hordon in a set of Caberet songs and an orchestral work was performed by Sutton symphony orchestra last summer (2003). He occasionally performs as pianist or percussionist.
