The Thirteenth International Festival of New Music for Orchestra and Chorus will be held in Vienna, Austria from 30 June – 4 July 2008.
The Festival will feature the excellent ÖGZM Orchestra of Vienna, Austria, conducted by Andreas Hérm Baumgartner, and the Chorus Ars Brunensis from Brno, Czech Republic. The ÖGZM (Austrian Society for Contemporary Music) Orchestra was founded exclusively to perform and record contemporary music, especially music by living composers. The ÖGZM is one of the most active composers’ organisations in Europe. The recordings and concert performances will take place in the Joseph Haydn Saal of the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna.
Festival participation includes the production of a fully professional recording and Master CD-R at a special rate to composers of Euro 450,-- per minute of music. The cost for works using both chorus and orchestra will be given upon request; for a cappella works, the costs can only be determined after the score has been submitted. All composers, irrespective of age, nationality, gender, level of professional recognition, or stylistic direction, are eligible for consideration. The price includes orchestra, conductor, complete engineering and editing, Master CD-R, and the concert performance. After the performance all composers will receive copies of the posters and programs.
All works will be rehearsed and recorded by a professional, experienced sound team headed by Frantisek Poul, using the most modern digital equipment. For Festival consideration please send to the address below a non-returnable copy of the score and a cassette or CD, if available. We will notify you immediately if your work can be scheduled for recording and performance and if so, send you a contract. Upon return of contract, your recording and performance will be scheduled on dates as much in conformity with your wishes as possible.
For those who cannot take part in the Festival on the dates above, there are recording possibilities at other times. This applies to orchestral works as well as to choral and chamber music.
