The altruist and the narcissist - two opposites
This seems to be an interesting observation to me.
Most normal people have a narcissistic tendency as well as an
altruistic one. However, the narcissist is the one end of the scale and
the altruist the other. This is, while the altruist gets a kick
out of helping others, the narcissist gets a kick out of
hurting others. The altruist wants to raise others to her/his level and
enjoys the familiarity (s)he sees with her/himself in the person the
altruist has helped and the shared happiness. On the other hand, the
narcissist, wants to drag people down to her/his level and enjoys the
familiarity (s)he sees with her/himself in the person the narcissist
has hurt and the shared misery.
